Microsoft SharePoint may be the most popular collaboration tool used by NOREX members, but it is not the only one!
Participants in the recent NOREX Collaboration Technologies WebForum identified Atlassian's Confluence, Saba's Live product, Liferay's Social Office and Lotus tools QuickR and Connections in addition to SharePoint, as collaboration and social networking solutions currently in use. SharePoint is by far the most commonly used product among participants, with 43% of those responding to a WebForum poll indicating usage of one of the many SharePoint versions.
Implementation of SharePoint 2010 is now underway in many shops, with AvePoint's DocAve software recommended for managing what can be a complicated migration, depending on what SP version is currently in use.
