A July Member Quick Poll on distance and locations of both primary and backup data centers shares that 28% of the participants have less than 25 miles between their primary and backup sites.
6% have a distance of 25-50 miles; nearly 8% 51-100 miles, nearly 8% for 101-200 miles; and 24% have a distance of 201 miles or more. 27% of the responding members do not have an alternative data center site.
Members also respond to a variety of potential risk factors regarding the location of their primary and backup data centers.
